    FAQ

    1. Material quality and craftsmanship

The crockery and ceramic objects are made of black or white high-temperature clay with a sufficiently high proportion of chamotte or of waterproof high-temperature stoneware. This makes the crockery very resistant to external influences.

I make all of my ceramics by hand using the slab or coil techniques.

Both of these techniques are very time consuming and must be done carefully and slowly. The surface of each individual vessel or ceramic object has its own unique relief due to the coil and slab techniques.

My ceramics cannot be described as ideally shaped either. I do this on purpose because it brings movement and life into the ceramics. I put a piece of energy, soul and life into every detail of the ceramics.

For the most part, I make ceramic glazes myself, using my own recipes or recipes from great ceramic masters like Phil Rogers and Ray Finch.

There are also some ceramic glazes that I like from large-scale producers, so I buy them and use them for my ceramics.

All my ceramic glazes are lead-free. When I make my own glazes, I always use lead-free raw materials or natural ash from Hochwald area in Germany. That's where my ash supplier is based.

It depends on the clay body I am using and the effects I am trying to achieve. The temperature varies between 1220° and 1290°C.

    2. Exclusivity and origin

All POET products are first designed and then made by me. I am a free artist Olga Kosinski.

The ceramics were made in one of the two workshops in Bissingen an der Teck or Wendlingen am Neckar in Germany.

    3. Design, aesthetics, cultural and artistic meaning

My ceramics are intended for modern and elegant kitchens, luxurious living and representative areas that want to convey a touch of nature and rustic design, as well as for kitchens and rooms with a rustic country house style.

My ceramics have already been used for food and interior photography.

The simple and organic shape of the tableware or ceramic objects plays the main role in my ceramics. It should look as if it were alive, but you will see eternity in it for ‘Many Moons’ or for all times.

Poetically viewed, I compare it to nature, the mountains, the sea, animals and plants. That is the idea and concept behind the artistic ceramics brand POET.

I have developed various ceramic collections for you. Each has its own character and message.

Many Moons with different series, such as Black Stone, White Stone, Vulcan, Forever and so on, reflects eternity. In shape, colour and appearance, they are reminiscent of eternal, inaccessible and grandiose mountains, cliffs, stones and sand.

The Sand and Sea collection with its many blue-green and brown nuances is inspired by the sea. I have used natural ash from the German forest for the ceramic glaze in the production of these ceramics. And therefore co-operate with a coppice forest management in Hochwald.

Terra. The ceramic collection reflects earthy tones.

Bird`s eggs. The Bird`s eggs crockery has the colour of bird`s eggs, beige with brown speckles. This tableware creates a cosy, homely and countryside atmosphere on the table.

Colourful Life. A colourful collection with drawings that bring you in a good mood. I made it for fun, as a contrast to my other collections.

Green Pine. My favourite tree - the pine - inspired me to create the Green Pine ceramic collection. It gives balance and harmony.

When you look or touch these ceramics, each of which is unique, you will feel the life and energy of nature. Heavy in weight, with harmonious shapes and an intense aura, the crockery and ceramics attract attention.

Yes, I love traditional Japanese ceramics and their style, which is characterised by a unique combination of craftsmanship, simplicity and a deep respect for nature.

So I thought about my ceramic ideas and then created them, mostly in this style.

    4. Exclusive services

Yes, I am open to interesting new projects. Please feel free to contact me.

    5. Functionality, care and use

Please read the product description. Some tableware is dishwasher and microwave safe, while other items are not.

Ceramics that are not dishwasher safe can be cleaned with normal dishwasher detergent. There are no special cleaning agents or care requirements.

I use different glazes, but they are always high-temperature glazes. And compared to low-temperature earthenware glazes, my glazes are less scratch-sensitive. In general, the smooth glaze is more sensitive to scratches than the matt glaze.

Over time, the dishes show signs of wear. I have been using my dishes myself for 2 years and they still look good.

So far, I have not noticed any fading.

Here I can proudly tell you that all POET ceramics are very resistant to use, impact and abrasion compared to cheaper ceramics.

I always use stoneware in my production and it pays off.

However, you should not forget that it is ceramic and can break if it falls on a hard floor.

    6. Sustainability and environmental friendliness

In the production of ceramics, I use many natural materials: clay, lead-free raw materials.

And with my slab or coil manufacturing techniques and the manual application of glaze, almost no material is left over.

I use a modern electric kiln for the firing process. And this kiln has the best energy efficiency available today.

The ceramics are produced locally in workshops in Bissingen an der Teck or in Wendlingen am Neckar in Germany.

I make ceramics myself and I am very happy about that.

    7. Value and investment

What unique qualities or manufacturing techniques make the product particularly valuable?

All POET ceramics are first designed by me, the artist Olga Kosinski, and then handcrafted in slab or coil techniques from high-quality clay masses - stoneware and ceramic glaze (mostly according to my own recipes).

The manual slab or coil techniques are a time-consuming process that is carried out very carefully and slowly.

These manufacturing techniques give the surface of each individual vessel or ceramic object its own distinctive relief.

My ceramics cannot be described as ideally shaped either. I do this on purpose because it brings movement and life into the ceramics.

The manual application of the ceramic glaze also ensures a unique colour pattern. I would like to mention here that the ash for some of my ceramic glazes comes from the Hochwald forest in Germany, which makes it unique.

When you handle ceramics, you will feel the life and energy of nature. Heavy in weight, with harmonious forms and an intense aura, the ceramic draws attention to itself.

I have developed various ceramic collections. Each has its own character and message.

Conclusion: the self-developed design and ceramic glazes, long-term and laborious manufacturing techniques and high-quality materials make the POET ceramics of the highest quality.

I have been new to the market for handmade ceramics since 2023.

I initially learned my skills from my teacher Susanne Schumacher at the FKN in Nürtingen and then developed them myself.

Time will tell whether the value of my ceramics will increase. I plan to show my works in exhibitions, some of them international. This could be a big step for POET to become known.

If I manage it, please talk to investment experts.

But you are welcome to collect my works now.

    8. Availability and shipping

    I work to order.

The delivery time depends on how many orders I have in progress and how long the manufacturing process takes.

The manufacturing process is time-consuming. I'll explain it to you.

First, I make the mould. This takes a few hours for a small mould and up to two days for a larger one.

Then the mould has to be dried. This takes between one and two weeks, depending on the size and the clay mass of the ceramic.

Then the ceramics go into the kiln for biscuit firing. This takes 1.5 days.

Then I apply the glaze. On average, this takes half an hour per form.

Next comes the glaze firing. This takes 2 days.

The last step is to pack the ceramic and organise the shipment.

Conclusion: on average, the production time can take 4 to 6 weeks. Added to this is the shipping time of about 1 to 2 weeks (depending on where I send the ceramics).

POET is a modern and environmentally conscious sender. The ceramics are sent in recyclable packaging and are packed securely and well to ensure that they reach customers intact after their long journey.

All POET ceramics are made to order. The production time is 4-6 weeks. As soon as the dishes or ceramic objects have been made, they are carefully packed and shipped. Before shipping, we always show some photos of the products to be sure you like them.

Packages are sent via DHL and arrive in 2-4 weeks.

Please note that the buyer is responsible for tracking the package, whether it has arrived at its destination or not. I love making my ceramics, they are unique and I put a lot of love into each piece! I really enjoy sharing my passion with people from all over the world, which is why I ship my items with the utmost care and security.

    10. Reviews

The number of my customers is still relatively small. I am new to the ceramics market and have only slowly established myself in this area since 2023.

And I continue my work because I have only received positive feedback from my customers in different countries. There are customers from Spain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Greece and also from the USA.

Or there are customers who do not want to communicate. And I accept that too.

I have never received a return from any of my customers.

I don't ask my customers to give me a review. That's a marketing thing, also important, but my communication with customers often happens via private emails and I can't open them to the public.

I often say to my customers: either you don't like my ceramics at all, or you will fall in love with them forever.

And I leave it up to my customers whether they want to return the ceramic. It is important to me to have only happy customers.
